sizzlin Summer recap 2023

What a whirlwind of spring into summer and now here comes fall at the ranch. It's almost Labor Day! We are up to 24 babies with two late calves coming on 8/23 and 8/24. Better late than never! The older calves are turning brown and eating range cake and growing up so fast. July / August / September is breeding season, and the stock looks to be in good shape and working hard at their task.

Thank you to everyone who came for the Bison Family Festival! Wow what a party! There were like 200 people here - no kidding.  If you missed it, don’t worry. There will be another one, someday. There were games and arts and crafts and mini tours in and out of the bison pasture. Our friends from the Ring of Horns ranch brought their new food truck for its first big gig. The lines were kind of like Disney Land, so we want to extend our biggest thanks for your patience and for having a great time while you waited in the lines at the happiest ranch on earth ;-)

Tour season has been so much fun! The tour truck got an upgrade from diesel to gas, hay bales to benches, and from a step stool to real stairs.  We work to accommodate all ages of bison lovers. C’mon out and see the herd. Breeding season is kind of like a National Geographic special. LOL! Book online:  harlowranch.com/ranch-tours  Tours will continue until mud season forces a break, probably mid-October. Then we are hoping to be able to offer some tours this winter once the ground freezes. Christmas at the bison ranch anyone?

Did you see the social post about the shish kabobs? Yum Summer Fun! We have just a few packs left until next year.

Harvest Host camping has been a hit! We are enjoying meeting folks from across the U.S., even Canada, New Zealand, and the UK! The campers are enjoying great bison meat and some peace and quiet not often found at other camping spots.

We have been very blessed to participate in lots of fundraisers this summer:
Sampler box donation for the Elks Club summer fundraiser;
Silent auction items for people fundraising to battle against cancer;
Sponsorship for Sanders County Saleing event, the Huckleberry Festival, and the Sanders County Community Housing Coalition Golf Tournament.

We also got to participate in and provide the bison tenderloin roast for the Project Ascent special fundraising dinner. What an amazing evening! Don’t miss the next one! We have tenderloin steaks in stock now if you want to re-create that special moment at home.
