Bison Family Festival 7/12/26

7/12/26 – Another one for the history books. The 4th annual Bison Family Festival brought 550 people (more or less) to the ranch to join the 30 volunteers and 20 vendor staff to celebrate bison, ranch heritage, and the love of community.  THANK YOU to all of the people who came out and who worked tirelessly to make the event happen.

The Harlow Ranch Bison were the star of the show in the pasture and on the plate. Bitchn Kitchn sold bbq bison burnt ends. Blondeez food truck sold bison burgers. There were vendors from all over NW MT selling food and drinks and art and wellness products. KookooSint Cold Brew kept us all moving while the band, Rust n Dust, entertained the crowd with great music. There were drawings throughout the day for bags of jerky and the day wrapped up with raffles for a super cool skull, a basket of ranch merch, and a $300 gift certificate. Two tour trucks and the bison bus were running nonstop. There were approximately 75 trips in and out of the pasture to see the bison.

A great time was had by everyone, except our dog. Biff the Border Collie had to be confined to the back yard after I caught him standing in line for a bison burger. He’s still pouting over that.

Biff has developed a sense of entitlement since his starring role in our YouTube video. Last week we released the video on soil health and all the gadgets we get to play with to test progress at the ranch. Our son Trey has a great spot on there about the worms he’s raising for his garden and how that affects the soil health.  We love worms! There’s even a cameo by our granddaughter Kalea.
